#2025 theme vision based autonomy

For the first time, the IEEE OES IIT Madras Student Branch Chapter, the IEEE OES Madras Chapter, and the Department of Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras have joined forces to organize the AUV Challenge. This collaborative effort aims to foster innovation and excellence in autonomous underwater vehicle technology.

The Department of Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras has a long-standing commitment to AUV research and development. While they haven't traditionally hosted a dedicated AUV Challenge, they have consistently participated in and excelled at national and international competitions, showcasing their expertise in the field.

In collaboration with the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) and the Department of Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras, we are thrilled to introduce the IEEE OES – IIT Madras AUV Challenge. This exciting competition is designed to propel advancements in AUV technology while fostering creativity and innovation among young researchers and ocean enthusiasts. Participants will have the unique opportunity to showcase their skills and innovative ideas in AUV design and application. Join us as we embark on this thrilling journey, pushing the boundaries of ocean exploration and cultivating the next generation of ocean engineers!
